Vardy and Mahrez scores as Leicester city records first away win of the season
EPL team, Leicester city have had a hard time defending the title this season.
Since manager Claudio Ranieri’s sack, the Premier League champions have had three successive wins. This has steered them six points off relegation and sealed a first-ever place in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Mahrez, who scored 17 goals last season, put his team ahead after five minutes, scoring his fifth goal this season.
Robert Huth‘s header doubled Leicester’s lead within two minutes of Mahrez’s opener. After Manuel Lanzini pulled one back directly from a free kick, Jamie Vardy ‘s goal in the 38th minute sealed the team victory.
Vardy’s goal proved decisive after Andre Ayew‘s second-half header put West Ham back in control. Ayew missed a chance to level when he struck over the bar.
