On July 21st, President Buhari will kick-off his day with a meeting with a delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO). He is also schedule to hold a meeting with the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, and attend a luncheon at the state department. He will later have a meeting with the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) accompanied by the Director General of the Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA). Moving from the CIA’s office, Buhari will proceed to a meeting with the US Secretary for Defense and the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. He will then receive classmates from the US War College class of 1980.
The Nigeria leader will then hold a meeting with a joint session of the US Senate and House of Representatives committee on Foreign Affairs at the US Capitol.
Buhari will then proceed to meet with Nigerian Youths at a Meet & Greet event scheduled to hold at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC. The event is organised by Ebonylife TV. It will be followed shortly afterwards at the same venue by a Town Hall meeting with Nigerians in the Diaspora.
Before departing the US on Wednesday, President Buhari will have an interactive session at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) at an event to be co-hosted by the Atlantic Council, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the National Democratic Institute, the International Republican Institute and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems. That meeting is scheduled to begin at 10am, and Mr. Buhari and his entourage will depart shortly afterwards.
