Top Nigerian YouTube creators Toke Makinwa, Olisa Adibua, Ariyike Akinbobola, Naija’s Craziest and TechCity NG came together to talk about how they are leveraging YouTube to reach audiences, share their passions and, in some cases, earn money too.   In 2014, YouTube views in Nigeria increased by 78%, while views of Nigerian content increased by 95% – a testament of to the role YouTube is playing in the export of Nigerian content.

  1. Popular OAP and “Queen of Social” Toke Makinwa’s Toke Moments started out has grown to become one of the weekly high points of many nigerians on the YouTube. The hilarity with which she presents her monologues, and her bluntness on the many relationship issues she speaks about has made hers one of the top youtube channels in Nigeria.

  2. Media & broadcast veteran Olisa Adibua’s Olisa TV is perhaps one of the fastest growing channels of its kind in Nigeria. Launch less than 1 year ago, the channel has amassed close to 9,500 subscribers; a feat not many Nigerian channels can boast of. Beside the array of top celebs that have graced his channel, it is the depth of the interviews and conversations that set this channel apart.

  3. Television presenter and talk show host,  Ariyike Akinbobola is a woman of many parts, and this can be seen from her YouTube channel Ariyike Weekly.  Backed by her great sense of humour and her ability to recreate the best and juiciest gists, Ariyike Weekly continues to attract local and global fans interested in catching up with the 1-on-1 interviews and behind-the-scene / red carport reports of some of the most talked about events.

  4. TECHCITY NG is a YouTube channel focused on Tech Review/News and all thing technology. Launched in 2012 by a team of 5 which includes the popular radio OAP BellaRose Okojie, the TechCity NG channel addition also features interviews and happenings in the information technology industry in Nigeria and around the globe.

  5. Naija’s Craziest is a group of 5 guys whose channel uses satirical-styled comedy to highlight topical political and societal issues in Nigeria. To date the channel has generated 2.6 million views within a space of 18 months! Living true to the name, the Naija’s Craziest is one of the craziest and most hilarious nigerian-focused channels on the platform.
