The chairman of Bi-courtney corporation, Mr. Wale Babalakin, who was facing a 27 count charge has been discharged by the Lagos High Court.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had charged Wale Babalakin to court on charges ranging from conspiracy to helping former Delta state governor siphon state funds.
The EFCC alleged that the amount siphoned was to the tune of N4.7 billion. In delivering his ruling, Lawal Akapo said that “I find and I hold that the amended information dated May 7, 2013 is incurably bad and defective and it is struck out.”
The EFCC has indicated its desire to appeal the ruling once they go over the judgment.
