#100KNaija – Join The Discussion And Share Your Story On Google Plus

Jan 1 2014 will mark a hundred years since the entity ‘Nigeria’ was formed via the amalgamation by Sir Frederick Lugard.

 

To celebrate this centenary anniversary, the Google team in Nigeria has put together a couple of  initiatives which will begin with the #100knaija initiative.

#100knaija aims to capture the story of Naija’s past 100 years through pictures. Imagine the kind of story we could tell with a 100,000 pictures taken at different times throughout the past hundred years! Interesting right?

The idea is to encourage Nigerians to take pictures that represents what Nigeria means to them (lifestyles, cultures, people, and locations), and then upload these pictures to their Google+ profiles using the hashtag.
So the question most people ask is what kind of picture? It can be any picture that links to Nigeria in the last 100years, your mum’s picture, your secondary school days, old school pictures, rare unseen moments, pre-independence, and post independence.
