Chris Ubosi of The Beat 99.9 FM Declared As Creative Entrepreneur of The Year 2012

 
The Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria has declared Chris Ubosi the Founder of Magelectrics Limited (Operators of Beat 99.9 FM, Classic FM 97.3 and Naija FM 102.7), three licensed indigenous radio stations in Nigeria, The Creative Entrepreneur of the Year 2012. He was also winner of the Audio Visual Category.

With a degree in Quantity Surveying and Masters in project management from the University of Lagos, Chris Ubosi definitely couldn’t resist falling in love with radio broadcasting. From humble beginnings with Cool FM and Wazobia FM, he took the entrepreneurship route 5 years ago and today he is being rewarded for Initiative, Talent, Creativity and Entrepreneurship in the audio visual sub sector of the Nigerian Creative Industry.
The Award was proudly supported by the British Council Lagos,Jumia.com.ng, Icentra Consulting, Digiprint ltd and many more.
Other winners of the Creative Industry Awards include Kelechi Amadi Obi (VISUAL ARTS), DJ Sosse(Performing Arts), Ayo Richard Makun for AY Show (Comedy), Segun Demuren and Banky W for Eme Music (Music ), Kene Mkparu for Film House (Film), Book Craft (Publishers), Chris Ubosi for Thebeat FM, Classic FM and Naija FM (Audio Visual ).

Not forgetting Tunde Kehinde and Rapheal Afaedor for Jumia.com.ng (New Media), Lanre Adisa for Noah’s Ark (Creative Services), Mai Atafo for Mai (Fashion)

All winners were automatically nominated for the Creative Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This Award has ‘11’ categories including the overall winner that was declared the Creative Entrepreneur of the year 2012.
One of the key objectives of this award is to sensitise the Nigerian creative sector to the opportunities that abound in Nigeria, while showcasing and rewarding those that have taken the bull by the horn.
A second objective is to better understand the dynamics of being an entrepreneur in the creative economy. Through this programme we seek opportunities to achieve both sensitisation and understanding.
The Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria is a collection of Entrepreneurs that use creativity and intellectual capital as their primary raw material.
