The Nigerian Government has evacuated 172 Nigerians from the Uganda and Nairobi due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) announced this via its Twitter handle and also said that some of the returnees will disembark in Abuja while others will proceed to Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Nigeria.
The Commission also mentioned that the evacuation was jointly done by the Nigerian Mission in Nairobi, Kenya and the Nigerian Mission in Kampala, Uganda. NIDCOM also said that even though the returnees have tested negative to Coronavirus, they will still proceed on self-isolation, in accordance with the NCDC’s guidelines.
