Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has commiserated with the family of the late former Coach and Captain of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi. Dogara, who expressed shock over the sudden demise of the footballer, said his death has robbed the country of one of its greatest football heroes.
In a statement issued by his spokesman Turaki Hassan, the Speaker eulogised the late skipper and described him as one of the biggest shinning stars the country has ever had. He said the late coach will forever be remembered as one of the Nigerians who contributed immensely to the development of football in the country.
The Speaker urged Nigerians, especially young footballers, to emulate the patriotic attributes of the late coach in their efforts to realize their goals in the course of serving the nation.
Dogara also called on the relevant authorities to immortalise Keshi and prayed that God grant the family of the deceased coach the fortitude to bear the loss.
