Below are some of the top choices of hotels to look out for next time you visit the city of Durban.

  1. Blue Water Hotels

This is a luxurious landmark hotel where golden beaches and the warm Indian Ocean are just a shell’s throw away. You can be assured of a relaxed and beautiful stay as most of the rooms have ocean views and outdoor balconies.

Based on its location on Durban’s Golden Mile, the hub of our city’s entertainment district, there is easy access to Durban’s sporting and corporate facilities. The Suncoast Casino and Entertainment Complex is also a short walk away.

Sporting Activities are great as the hotel is also close to the Kings Park Sporting precinct (including the Moses Mabhida, Kings Park Swimming Pool and Kings Park Rugby Stadium), Kingsmead Cricket stadium, Cyril Geoghegan Cycling Track, and Greyville Race Course.

This is also a great idea for business trips as the ICC, Durban Exhibition Centre and Olive Convention Centre are all within five minutes’ drive of the Blue Waters Hotel.

There is an all year round pool, the Versailles Restaurant, the Blue Dolphin Cocktail Bar and a Pizzeria.

  1. Kingston Place Guest House

A four-star Guesthouse in Umhlanga set in a tranquil setting, close to The Village and Gateway. This is one of the places to stay in Umhlanga, and has the right accommodation to suit your needs. There are beautiful sea views from the lounge, patio, Honeymoon Suite, Room 5 and Penthouse.

Free Wi-Fi throughout the Guesthouse and all rooms have bar fridges.

  1. Gooderson Tropicana Hotel

Durban is known for its wonderful weather and Gooderson Tropicana Hotel, one of the Durban beachfront’s most stylish hotels. This is the perfect year-round destination that offers something for everyone. Accommodation in Durban doesn’t get better than this as it is situated on Durban’s Golden Mile overlooking the warm Indian Ocean, Gooderson Tropicana Hotel is close to most of Durban’s attractions – the beautiful beaches, uShaka Marine World, the International Convention Centre, Suncoast Casino, the Moses Mabhida and Kings Park stadiums and the Kingsmead Cricket Ground. For adventurous visitors who wish to explore a little further, there are the Zululand Game reserves, Zulu cultural experiences and the breath taking Drakensberg.
