Today is The Nigerian Armed Forces remembrance day, celebrated annually on January 15 in recognition of the efforts of military forces in the country.
This year’s Armed Forces Remembrance day also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Nigeria’s first coup d’etat on January 15, 1966.
The Armed Forces Remembrance day was formerly celebrated onon November 11 but was changed to the day Biafran forces surrendered to Nigerian forces.
