Chelsea are holding an emergency board meeting today to discuss Mourinho’s future at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
Chelsea’s season slumped further on Monday night with Mourinho’s men losing 2-1 at Leicester.
And while Blues owner Roman Abramovich has so far backed his manager, that could be about to change.
The Daily Mail claim Abramovich will hold talks with top Chelsea chiefs – Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Eugene Tenenbaum and Michael Emenalo – to mull over sacking the Portuguese boss.
Chelsea’s players are reportedly turning on Mourinho and themselves after defeat to Leicester.
Following the loss at the King Power Stadium Mourinho accused his team of ‘betraying’ him, angering his stars.
A source told The Sun: “That sort of comment is interpreted as Jose trying to distance himself from the result and the performance, whether it is right or not.”
Mourinho has told his players he should have sold some of them in the summer, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror claim Mourinho has told some of his squad he was too soft after winning the Premier League last season and should have moved some of them on.
The 52-year-old has openly suggested he was the reason for their title success and is now being let down by his players.
