The Chairman of DAAR communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, is the latest in a long line of former supporters and loyalists who are now hitting out at the former President.
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan lost his reelection bid and ended a 16 year hold the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have had on political power since the transition to civilian rule in 1999.
The PDP has found itself in a strange position as an opposition party and has spent the larger part of its time apportioning blame for the results of the last general election. Chief Raymond Dokpesi in a media chat admitted that the PDP has made a number of errors among which adopting Goodluck Jonathan as the sole candidate in the 2015 election.
“There was impunity, imposition of candidates, breach of the zoning arrangement and lack of a level playing field for members. Make no mistakes, the PDP is aware that there were errors made along the way. We admit that at certain times in our past, mistakes have been made. We did not meet the expectations of Nigerians. We tender our apology. But the past is exactly what it is. We call on all party faithful, supporters and sympathizers to partner with us going forward.” Chief Dokpesi said.
