In what is undoubtedly the most bizzare news from Nigeria’s Northern region, the Adamawa state government has announced an unconventional, albeit spiritual approach to tackling the menace of insecurity in the state.
Boko Haram terrorists hold sway in Nigeria’s Northern, with their hit and run style attacks on soft targets a continuing source of worry.
The Chief of state of Adamawa, Alhaji Abdurahman Jimeta, revealed in a media chat aired on the Adamawa State Television that the government will seek the help of Allah in fighting terrorism.
“We have earmarked N200 million for prayers to seek for Allah’s intervention in tackling the Boko Haram menace and other insecurity challenges threatening the stability of the state,” Jimeta said
He also revealed that a part of the money will be used to assist local law enforcement agencies.
