10 Brazilian Football Stars Join Nigerian Leagues Side

The 2015/2016 season of the Nigeria professional league (NPFL), is set to welcome newย glamour and excitement as FC Ifeanyi Ubah has brought in 10 Brazilians ahead of the new campaign.

Theย Brazilians arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday, January 10 and were scheduled to join the rest of the squad at their pre-season camp in Ibadan.

Chairman of the Anambra State based club, Chukwuma Ubah, welcomed the foreignersย and urging them to give their best to getย contracts with the club.

โ€œThis season we decided that even if you are a Messi or Ronaldo, you have to touch the ball in Nigeria. We have insisted that whoever must play for us must touch the ball and after they must have gone through the trials then we will determine who will be signed.โ€

โ€œIf you agree with me, Ifeanyi Ubah (club owner) is someone that goes for near perfection, we know only God is perfect, we try to put finesse in anything we do. We donโ€™t go for little measures, we aim so high.ย

โ€œAs it is, out target is to bring good football into Nigeria and it is an opportunity for anyone who will be playing with them to learn from them.โ€

The chairman, who said the playersโ€™ earnings will depend on how they played, also disclosed the teamโ€™s collaborative efforts with foreign clubs, as they look to improve from last seasonโ€™s 11th position in the league.

He said: โ€œWe have an agreement with West Ham an another Brazilian club, the idea is to have Brazilians play in Nigeria and naturally Brazilians will be interested in our league.โ€
