Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to Nigeria’s President Mohammad Buhari over a recent terrorist attack in the Nigerian city of Madagali and stressed that Russia supports Nigeria’s efforts in combating terrorism.
According to the Kremlin’s press service -which quoted Putin statement as reading- “The Russian president strongly condemned this barbar no justification, and stressed that Russia supports Nigeria in its efforts to combat terrorism. The president confirmed his willingness to increase cooperation in this field both on bilateral and international levels,” the statement said.
Putin also expressed his condolences to the families of victims of the Madagali attack and wished a fast recovery for those injured.
On Friday, two Boko Haram group members carried out terrorist attack in the North-Eastern town of Madagali. The attack reportedly claimed the lives of more than 30 people, with many others wounded.
