Fuse ODG criticize Nivea over Billboard with “For Visibly Fairer Skin”

Nivea Advert - OLORISUPERGAL

Ghanaian singer Fuse ODG has called out personal care brand, Nivea on his Instagram page for an advert campaign the brand is running all over Africa.

The advert for the brand’s lotion features former ex-beauty queen Omowunmi Akinnifesi, on the billboard with the tagline; “For visibly fairer skin”.

Fuse ODG posted the photo of the billboard on his Instagram asking that the billboard should be taken all over Africa or else people would do it for the brand. He wrote:

He wrote:

“Dear Nivea,
Kindly take down these billboards you have placed all over our beloved countries in Africa. I saw this one with my own eyes today in Ghana and we love our complexion the way it is. And if you don’t take these down. We will.
Every African everywhere should stop buying any Nivea product. Tag the Nivea branch from your country so they understand how foolish this is!
With love

Nivea is the second personal care brand that will be facing criticism this month for an insensitive advert, following the Dove Facebook campaign that was condemned as being racist.
