President Buhari in London, returns to Nigeria Monday
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has said that President Muhammadu Buhari has landed in London.
According to Punch, Adesina, replying to a text, said the president arrived in London Thursday night and will return to the country on Monday. He wrote:
“We just landed in London. The President is in transit; to be back in Nigeria on Monday.”
Adesina did not state the reason for the President’s visit.
The President had departed New York for London after attending the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, where he addressed other world leaders.
The Presidency had said last week that Buhari would be making a stopover at London before returning to Nigeria but did not disclose the reason for his return.
President Buhari, who returned from the UK in August, after over a 100 days medical leave, has spent over 160 non-consecutive days in the country where he is being treated for an undisclosed ailment.
