Wura returns with frills and thrills as its fourth season opens with a bold twist and a refreshed cast, setting the tone for a deeper, more emotionally charged storyline.
Following the official announcement of its return, the Nigerian telenovela wasted no time igniting conversation, particularly with the recast of Tumininu, popularly known as Tumi. Actress Sharon Rotimi steps into the role, sparking mixed reactions from fans after the season premiered on Monday, March 30, 2026, on Africa Magic Showcase and Family.

Beyond the casting shift, the premiere episode delivered a gripping narrative layered with emotion and cinematic depth. At the centre of it all is Wura, played by Scarlet Gomez, who is forced to confront the devastating consequences of her past actions. Overwhelmed by guilt for her role in “ending” her daughter’s life, Wura attempts suicide, while Kanyin moves swiftly to exploit the situation by plotting to take over Frontline Goldmine.
The episode also drew praise for its attention to detail, particularly in its use of medical terminology during Wura’s health crisis, reflecting a growing commitment to realism in storytelling.
Equally compelling is the backstory of Wura’s troubled upbringing. Rhoda Albert delivers a gripping performance as Paulina, whose harsh influence shapes Wura’s life. Young Wura, portrayed by Anabel Thaddeus, captures the depth of trauma endured under her mother’s control.
The episode’s defining moment comes when young Wura declares, “I will never be like you.” Her mother’s chilling response about prostitution being a family tradition only intensifies the conflict, as Wura flees, abandoning her newborn child and stepping into the morally complex path that defines her future.
