The internet has been buzzing following a viral moment in Lagos that saw Nigerian content creator Peller being ignored by American livestreamer IShowSpeed during the latter’s star-studded Africa tour stop. Nigerian comedian Woli Arole has now shared a heartfelt message to Peller that has stirred discussion across social media.
IShowSpeed, the globally popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer whose Africa tour “Speed Does Africa” has taken him to at least 20 countries across the continent, including Angola, South Africa, Egypt, Mozambique, Kenya, Senegal, and Nigeria, visited Lagos this week as part of his month-long livestreaming project.
He celebrated reaching over 50 million subscribers in Lagos on January 21, 2026, which coincided with his 21st birthday, drawing massive crowds and widespread attention online.
While in Lagos, videos quickly circulated showing Peller trying several times to approach IShowSpeed, even mounting a horse in one attempt, but his efforts were seemingly ignored by the streamer and his security team.
These clips went viral, leading to mixed reactions from fans online. Some Nigerians praised Peller for his boldness and energy, while others mocked the apparent snub or criticized the management decisions around the encounter.
Into this conversation stepped Woli Arole, who used his platform to offer candid advice and encouragement to Peller. In his first post he tagged Peller directly and wrote:

“My words to @Peller089. I celebrate your AUDACITY… despite what seems like an embarrassment you still TRIED again. A lot of people bashing Peller don’t even have half of his INFLUENCE, MONEY or REACH so we must talk to him in Grace…”
He went on to advise Peller to build solid management, seek education, bring elderly guidance into his team, and be cautious about his words and pride stressing that “words carry POWER” and that life is more than fame.
About an hour later, Woli Arole posted a second message referencing Peller’s earlier comments before IShowSpeed arrived in Nigeria — when Peller said he would not want to meet the streamer if given the chance. Woli Arole noted this as a lesson about the power of what we say, urging his followers to be mindful of their public statements.

The reaction to Woli Arole’s posts has been as varied as the reaction to the original viral clips. While many praised his balanced tone (offering both encouragement and critique) others felt the situation highlights a deeper issue about influencer etiquette, content creator collaboration, and the expectations creators place on each other when global personalities visit local scenes.
Regardless of where one stands, this is a clear reminder of how social media culture continues to shape modern interactions, fame, and influence in real time.
