Well Written Welcomes Suli Breaks for a One Night Only Literary Experience

There are moments when a city quiets itself just long enough to listen. This Friday, 28 November 2025, Lagos will hold such a moment as Well Written presents Suli Breaks, inviting audiences into an evening built on honesty, thought and the kind of connection that lingers long after the last word is spoken.

Acclaimed London-based poet, storyteller, and creative writer, Suli Breaks, has long held a rare place in contemporary culture, blending poetry, philosophy and lived experience into work that resonates across generations.

This edition of Well Written offers a chance to meet the artist beyond the stage persona, stepping into a more intimate space where reflection takes centre stage. With only thirty seats available, the evening promises an atmosphere that feels more like gathering around a warm conversation than attending a performance.

Touching down in Nigeria for the first, Suli Breaks shares: โ€œNigeria is a land rich with storytelling and culture (some of my favourite writers are Nigerian, including my wife). Itโ€™s an honour to touch down and contribute my stories and my voice to the ecosystem.โ€

Taking place at The Gather House from 6 PM to 9 PM WAT, the event will guide audiences through themes that define modern life. From balancing ambition with marriage and faith, to raising a family while building a legacy, to navigating the evolving identity of men in 2025, Suli Breaks will explore these topics through a fireside style conversation and selected readings from his latest book. The format encourages stillness, contemplation and authentic engagement, allowing the audience to witness the writer as both storyteller and human being.

The experience extends into an open question and answer session, giving attendees the chance to engage him directly. A book signing and photo moment will follow, creating space for personal interaction and keepsake memories from the night.

For fans of Suli Breaks, this is a rare opportunity to meet an artist whose influence has shaped public discourse from classrooms to boardrooms, while for new audiences, it is an introduction to one of the most distinctive voices in spoken word today.

Well Written continues to position itself as a home for thoughtful cultural exchange and this third edition reinforces its commitment to offering gatherings that are intimate, intentional and deeply human. With seating capped at thirty, the event prioritises connection over scale, ensuring every guest feels part of something meaningful.

Tickets are available via tix africa at a price of Naira 18,000. Given the exclusive nature of the evening, early booking is strongly recommended.
