The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, which has been closed since March, reopens despite the increase in the Coronavirus pandemic. The other two area parks – EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are expected to reopen on the 15th day of July, 2020.
Visitors above the age of two have been required to wear their face masks and comply with other safety measures such as social distancing during their visit. People’s temperatures are also being checked before they are allowed access into the park.
Accoring to the New York Times, Disney’s theme park chairman, Josh D’Amaro, said, “The world is changing around us, but we strongly believe that we can open safely and responsibly. Covid is here, and we have a responsibility to figure out the best approach to safely operate in this new normal.”
Walt Disney World Resort’s reopening is coming at a time when Florida is recording an increase in its cases of Coronavirus, with more than 10,000 cases discovered today.
