Itโs 8am and itโs call time. I donโt feel well rested because I slept for only three hours. What was I up to? Work. My body was tired and wanted desperately to enjoy the luxurious sheets and pillows that make up my bed but my mind wouldnโt stop pointing out the videos yet undone and other work emails needing my attention. I managed a bath and felt somewhat energised so the conflict didnโt last long. I willed myself to sit up at the desk, made myself a cup of tea, opened my computer and began to pound on the keys. When I found out I was yawning repeatedly, I checked the time and it was already 4:30am. I managed to sleep for three hours before breakfast time.
I got to the dinning area and found I didnโt have a big appetite so I managed to munch on something flimsy. Today is Sisi Yemmie’s birthday and she got a birthday song from the kitchen crew. Happy birthday Sisi.
From the Palace to the Safari
Our first activity for the day was a tour to the Palace of the lost city. Didier and Linda were our guides. This place looks every inch a palace. My highpoint was walking into a suite which once housed late American entertainer, Michael Jackson; and media mogul, Oprah Winfrey. This gorgeous, magical and opulent suit must be the grandest Presidential suite ever. A night here costs a whooping $15,000 so you can imagine the type of luxurious comfort this suite must provide. Every single detail in it is beautiful.
Would I want to spend a night here? Of course Iโd love to but not on my bill.
After the Palace tour, we headed straight to the Quad biking and safari tour. By now my eyes were wide open and I couldnโt wait to go.
This is my second time doing this. My first experience was just last month when the SA Specialistsโ group from Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Accra visited. With that experience still very fresh in my memory, I could barely wait to relive it with this group. Trust me, it did tingle my senses again.
A heavenly lunch and a glorious spa
After a pulsating ride, I was more than ready to devour anything. Lunch at the Brew Monkey was fun. I had pork ribs with fries and greek salad. There was an abundance of food to choose from. Everyone picked different things from the menu. It was at this point that we all began to compare experiences from quad biking.
Lunch was over quickly and we had the opportunity to relax at the spa. God knows I thoroughly needed a massage so when we got into Gabsy Spa, we had a 24-minute session. I shared spa room with birthday girl, Sisi Yemmie, and it was a good catch-up time. While the oils and hands did their wonder, we both reflected on the wonderful time we have had on this tour so far.
SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!
Dinner was at The Legends Restaurant of the Sun City hotel. There was a surprise party for Sisi yemmie to mark her birthday.

I found myself yawning as my sleep-deprived body tried to get my attention. Tomorrow is another day.
