Outspoken content creator and human rights activist, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni has joined the public outrage against the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Toke Benson.
In a series of tweets, Mr Macaroni lambasted the commissioner for assaulting a young man who was alleged to have recorded her while she was having a conversation with her staff members.
According to reports, the commissioner attacked the young man, bragging about her position as a commissioner and threatening to smash the phone used to record her while admonishing members of staff.

Mr Macaroni blasts Toke Benson
Mr Macaroni reacted to the viral video slamming Toke Benson. He noted that she’s a public servant and has no right to talk to a citizen of the state she serves in the way she did.
He further noted that the reason Nigerian politicians misbehave is that they know they’re above the law. Here’s an excerpt of his tweets below:
“The Audacity!!! A public servant assaulting a citizen??? That’s like assaulting your boss at work! Don’t you people have any leadership training??? Why do politicians see themselves as some sort of god to be worshipped?? This is Madness!!!”
In another tweet, he said:
“The only reason A public servant can assault a Nigerian and go Scot free is because Politicians in Nigeria are above the law. This is not the first time something like this would happen. However, if a citizen were to assault a politician, he or she would be in jail right now or could have been kidnapped by security agents or even shot dead…”

“That is the irony. They don’t get it. The citizens themselves need to equally get it more that public officers are hired by them to do a job.”
@thinkwonderfully:
“This is utterly unacceptable. Public servants should be serving the people, not assaulting them! It’s time for accountability and a change in leadership mentality!”
