#TECNOOwnTheStage: 4 contestants set to Battle for $25,000 star prize

The #TECNOOwnTheStage karaoke competition is getting hotter, as four contestants are left in the race to win the star prize of $25,000, a recording deal, and a brand new TECNO Phantom 5 smartphone.

The 10th episode commenced with the Host, Vimbai Munthiri, who looked every inch gorgeous in her outfit and jewelry accessories from the Yemi Aladeโ€™s collections

announcing that the contestants will be performing songs originally performed by the judges โ€“ Sauti Sol, Yemi Alade and M.I. But first, she introduced wave making act, Falz the Bad Guy to perform his hit song โ€˜Karishikaโ€™ to the delight of the audience.

His 5-star performance was followed by the first contestant on stage, Nandy. The Tanzanian performed Sauti Solโ€™s โ€˜Nishikeโ€™. Bien who is the lead singer of the East African group gave Nandy thumbs up for her good delivery but criticised her for not being able to bring the โ€˜sexinessโ€™ of the song to life.

The second contestant on stage was the Kenyan Ramar254 who sang a different Sauti Sol song, โ€˜Money Loverโ€™. Bien wasted no time in criticizing his countryman for missing his lines but MI came to the defense of the Kenyan contestant, as he jokingly called the song โ€ a terrible piece of music,โ€ sounding as a reminder that #NigeriansOwnTheStage.

The only Nigerian representative left, Shaapera was the third contestant on stage and she gave a beautiful rendition of Yemi Aladeโ€™s โ€˜Johnnyโ€™. Although, the Nigerian had been involved in an accident hours before the show commenced, she gave a good performance that earned her love and respect from the judges.

Sikin was next up on stage and she performed Yemi Aladeโ€™s โ€˜K.I.S.S.I.N.G.โ€™. The Kenyan was praised for her effort by Yemi Alade but was however cautioned against missing her lines.

The last performance of the night was by Pascal who sang MIโ€™s โ€˜One Nairaโ€™. The audience didnโ€™t appear too impressed but the Kenyan got praises from MI for his rendition but was also reminded of the fact that he missed his lines during his performance.

After the performances, the judges announced to the audience that the Kenyan, Ramar254 stood evicted from the show leaving Sikin and Pascal from Kenya, Nandy from Tanzania and Shapeera from Nigeria in the race for the grand prize.

As the battle for the top prize gets hotter, what should we expect from the 4 remaining contestants in the competition? Stay tune for another exciting show this Sunday.
