Super Eagles Defeat Mozambique 4-0 AFCON - Olorisupergal

Super Eagles Fly High as Nigeria Crush Mozambique 4-0 at AFCON

The Super Eagles of Nigeria delivered a commanding performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) yesterday, cruising to a resounding 4–0 victory over Mozambique in a match that highlighted Nigeria’s attacking depth, tactical discipline, and growing confidence in the tournament.

Nigeria started the encounter with clear intent, pressing aggressively and dictating the tempo from midfield. Their dominance paid off when Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal, setting the tone for a night of relentless attacking football. Lookman’s influence went beyond the scoresheet, as the winger provided two assists, constantly stretching Mozambique’s defense and creating space for his teammates.

The Super Eagles’ attacking rhythm found its peak with Victor Osimhen, who once again proved why he is regarded as one of Africa’s most dangerous forwards. The Napoli striker scored a brilliant brace, showing strength, intelligence, and clinical finishing inside the box. His goals were a product of Nigeria’s fluid buildup play and his own exceptional positioning, leaving the Mozambican backline overwhelmed.

Another standout performer was Akor Adams, whose contribution was both decisive and selfless. Adams found the back of the net to register Nigeria’s fourth goal and also delivered two assists, underlining his creativity and vision in the final third. His link-up play with Osimhen and Lookman kept Mozambique on the back foot throughout the match and added variety to Nigeria’s attacking options.

Beyond the goals, Nigeria’s overall team performance was impressive. The midfield controlled possession efficiently, recycling the ball and cutting off Mozambique’s passing lanes. Defensively, the Super Eagles remained compact and organized, limiting Mozambique to very few clear chances and securing a deserved clean sheet.

Mozambique struggled to cope with Nigeria’s intensity and pace, particularly in wide areas where Lookman and Adams caused constant problems. Despite their efforts, they were unable to break down Nigeria’s defense or slow the Super Eagles’ attacking momentum.

By the final whistle, the 4–0 scoreline accurately reflected Nigeria’s superiority in all departments. The emphatic win not only boosts Nigeria’s standing at the AFCON tournament but also sends a strong message to rival teams about their title ambitions.

With key players hitting top form and the squad displaying excellent cohesion, the Super Eagles look poised to continue their impressive AFCON campaign, carrying the hopes of millions of Nigerians as they push for continental glory.
