Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has revealed that a mix of health challenges and pregnancy were the main reasons behind the delayed release of her highly anticipated song “Where You Dey” featuring fellow artiste Chike. The candid explanation was shared by the artist on her social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and has since been widely reported by entertainment news outlets.

Simi explained that although she originally planned to release the song last year, her physical condition made it impossible to meet that timeline. After teasing the track with a snippet that excited fans, she found herself struggling with intense fatigue, weakness, nausea, and exhaustion, which made both finishing the song and promoting it especially difficult. In her own words, she wanted to release it “really, really, really” last year, but her body simply wouldn’t cooperate.

Even during the filming of the snippet video, Simi revealed that she was not well but did her best to push through. This candid disclosure gives fans insight into just how demanding the period was for her both physically and emotionally.

One of the highlights from her statement was her praise for Chike’s professionalism. According to Simi, Chike didn’t hesitate when she asked him to be part of the song, and as soon as he returned to town from a trip, he came straight to her studio to record his verse.
