Royal Daisy 3.0 Empowers Young Girls to “Be HER” with Puberty Education

The 3rd edition of the Royal Daisy event, themed “Be HER: High-Spirited, Eloquent, and Relentless,” successfully concluded on October 30, 2024, at the Tayo Adenirokun Hall, University of Lagos, Akoka. Gathering over 500 students, advocates, and educators, Royal Daisy 3.0 empowered young girls with the knowledge, confidence, and community support they need to navigate puberty and adolescence. Students from 25 schools, including members of the Girls With Period school club, attended this impactful event dedicated to fostering confidence, self-esteem, and menstrual health awareness.

Royal Daisy 3.0 presented a full day of engaging activities tailored to resonate with young minds, including debates, quizzes, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. The event also featured inspiring mentorship sessions and speeches by professionals across various fields, offering young girls a unique opportunity to learn from accomplished role models. The immersive experience emphasized practical skills and open conversations about puberty,
enabling attendees to approach this stage of life with self-assurance and understanding.


This year’s event emphasized menstrual health education with expert-led discussions aimed at dispelling myths, promoting openness, and providing accurate information. Interactive workshops and Q&A sessions offered practical resources to help young girls manage their periods with confidence. Attendees also participated in drama, dance, and community-building activities, promoting peer support and an atmosphere of inclusion and self-empowerment.


Reflecting on the event’s success, Patricia Vin-Okopi, founder of Girls With Period, expressed, “Seeing these young girls gain confidence and knowledge is what drives us. At Girls With Period, we are committed to building a strong, supportive community where girls can openly learn about and embrace this natural part of life. We believe that with the right information and encouragement, they are unstoppable.”

recognize her unique strengths and potential.”


The event was made possible through partnerships with numerous brands, including Tolaram Group, Lush Hair, Munch It, Minimie Chinchin, WildFlower PR, and DIYEPS Africa Foundation, who supported the initiative’s mission to create a lasting impact in the lives of young girls.
