Priscilla Ojo Mkambala is not keeping quiet while the internet drags her mum. The influencer and entrepreneur has come out swinging in defence of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo following the backlash that trailed her perceived support for Funke Akindele amid the ongoing conversation around Toyin Abraham’s reported snub by Funke.
Taking to social media, Priscilla addressed critics in a fiery and emotional post, suggesting that the constant controversies surrounding her mother may not be coincidental. According to her, the backlash intensified shortly after the announcement of Iyabo Ojo’s movie project Arinzo, hinting that some of the drama may be aimed at distracting from the film’s success.
“Always misunderstood, always blamed, even when she’s not the one in the mix,” she wrote. “Since Arinzo’s announcement can’t you see the pattern? A lot of drama back to back just for one aim: ruin her plans. But God’s stronger than man. And this movie will sell in Jesus’ name!”

The young star also expressed frustration with how her mother’s actions are often interpreted online. In her words, whether Iyabo Ojo chooses to stay silent or speak up, critics still find a way to twist the narrative.
“When she’s quiet, they twist the story. When she speaks, they get angry about the truth and still twist the story,” she added.
Priscilla went on to praise her mother’s character, describing her as someone who constantly shows up for others both publicly and privately, even when the same energy is not returned.
Despite the online noise, Priscilla remains confident that her mother’s latest film will thrive. She pointed to the massive turnout at the movie’s premiere as proof of Iyabo Ojo’s goodwill within the industry and among fans.
