The Lagos State Government has announced partial road closures across parts of the state ahead of a scheduled visit by Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the commissioning of key infrastructure projects.

In a traffic advisory released on Tuesday, the government said the closures will take effect on Wednesday, April 8, and Thursday, April 9, 2026, across major routes in Ikeja, Apapa, and Victoria Island.
On Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., traffic will be restricted around Opebi, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, and Ojota to allow for the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge. The project is expected to ease movement within the Maryland–Ojota–Ikeja corridor, an area known for frequent traffic congestion.
The second phase of the closures will take place on Thursday. Between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., motorists should expect delays in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle. Later in the day, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., movement will also be limited in Victoria Island, particularly around Eko Hotel & Suites.
Authorities say traffic officials will be on the ground to manage the situation and guide road users. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys and consider alternative routes where necessary.
