The Nigerian musician Portable has requested that his friend VeryDarkMan, whom he refers to as generous, be released by the EFCC and GTBank.
Despite their differences, Portable expressed his gratitude for VeryDarkMan’s generosity and support for others in a video posted on X (previously Twitter).
VeryDarkMan was arrested outside a GTBank location shortly after visiting, which prompted this request.
According to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, VDM was allegedly trapped inside the bank’s exit door for over five minutes, allowing EFCC officials to apprehend him.
The arrest has sparked widespread criticism, with many accusing GTBank of complicity in the incident.
Although the exact cause of his detention is still unknown, many people think it has something to do with his visit to the bank.

The arrest has led to a surge of public outcry on social media, with supporters demanding VDM’s immediate release.
Legal representatives have indicated plans to take action against GTBank for their alleged role in the arrest.
The EFCC has yet to provide an official statement regarding the reasons for VDM’s detention.
However, Portable’s advocacy adds to the growing chorus of voices calling for accountability and the protection of individual rights.
As the situation unfolds, many await further developments and official responses from the involved parties.

Portable pleaded with the EFCC, saying:
“Please, because of God. Please free VeryDarkMan, he is my friend. He gives people food, he helps a lot of people. I love people who help people.”
He also encouraged Nigerians not to withdraw their money from GTBank.
“Don’t remove your money from GTBank.”
The video has received mixed reactions online, with many sharing their thoughts in the comments.
