The arraignment followed his arrest after a series of incidents that reportedly involved confrontation with police officers. The charges were confirmed by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, who spoke to journalists on the matter. According to the police, the charges against the singer include assault, theft, causing bodily harm, and resisting arrest, among others.

Portable was brought before the court under heavy security, attracting attention from onlookers and members of the media. The singer, who has been involved in several public controversies in recent years, appeared calm as the charges were read to him. Court sources confirmed that the case stems from an altercation that occurred during an attempt by police officers to carry out their official duties.

According to the police account, Portable allegedly assaulted officers during the encounter and resisted lawful arrest. The prosecution further alleged that the singer caused bodily harm and engaged in acts considered criminal under Nigerian law. While full details of the incident were not disclosed in open court, authorities maintained that the charges were based on preliminary investigations and eyewitness accounts.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution asked for the defendant to be remanded pending further hearing of the case. Portableโ€™s legal team, however, appealed for bail, arguing that the singer is a public figure with a known address and would not evade trial. The defense also urged the court to consider his willingness to cooperate with ongoing investigations.

The presiding judge adjourned the matter to a later date to allow for proper consideration of the bail application and further legal processes. A ruling on whether Portable will be granted bail or remanded was reserved, with the court directing both parties to file necessary documents ahead of the next hearing.

Portableโ€™s arraignment has quickly become a trending topic on social media, with Nigerians expressing mixed reactions. While some fans called for due process and fairness, others criticized the singerโ€™s repeated run-ins with law enforcement, noting that the case reflects a pattern of controversial behavior that has followed his rise to fame.

The singer, who gained widespread recognition after the release of his hit song โ€œZazoo Zehh,โ€ has frequently made headlines for non-musical reasons, including public altercations and disputes. His legal troubles have continued to draw attention from both entertainment observers and the general public.

As the case proceeds, legal analysts say the outcome will depend on the strength of evidence presented by the prosecution and the courtโ€™s assessment of the allegations. For now, Portable remains under the spotlight as the judicial process unfolds in Ogun State.

The next court date is expected to determine the immediate direction of the case, including bail conditions and further hearings, as authorities pursue the charges brought against the singer.
