Piggyvest Makes CNBC’s World’s Top 250 Fintech Companies For a Second Consecutive Year

Piggyvest, Africa’s leading online savings and investments platform, has been recognised as one of the top fintech companies globally in CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies: 2025, for a second consecutive year.

The CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2025 report spotlights the global fintech ecosystem and highlights the work of legacy institutions and startups that are building innovative products and progressive financial solutions across various market categories. Compiled in partnership with data giant Statista, CNBC profiled 2000+ companies, evaluating key performance indicators such as user base growth, innovative technology, market potential, employee headcount, and social impact before selecting 300 companies across six market categories.

Piggyvest’s inclusion for a second consecutive year is a testament to the company’s global impact and innovation in the global fintech ecosystem. In a message shared with staff on the heels of the announcement, Odunayo Eweniyi, the company’s COO and Co-founder, wrote, “This recognition is a huge testament to the work we’ve been putting in; building, scaling, and constantly improving a product that helps millions of people take control of their financial future.”

This year, Piggyvest was recognised in the Wealth Technology category. According to CNBC, companies listed in this segment are “companies offering digital products across the broader wealth management ecosystem.” Piggyvest is the only African company recognised in this category, alongside industry giants like RobinhoodClearwater Analytics, and Tiger Brokers.

This recognition comes as the company prepares to celebrate a decade of operations in the African market, serving nearly 7 million Nigerians. The company’s commitment to simplifying financial planning and wealth management for Nigerians continues to resonate deeply, making it a trusted partner for millions in achieving their financial goals, big and small.

“We are excited to share this honour with some of the most innovative businesses in the world,” Somto Ifezue, CEO and Co-founder of Piggyvest, said. “Being included on this list, for a second consecutive year and specifically in the wealth technology category, is a validation of the moves we have made to serve our users better and anticipate their long-term needs.”

Since its inception in 2016, Piggyvest has been dedicated to helping millions of Nigerians save, invest, and grow their wealth through simplified, digital, and automated savings and investment opportunities designed to address specific financial challenges Nigerians face.

“We’ve pioneered a shift in the way Nigerians save and invest, and it is affirming to see that effort continuously recognised on a global stage,” Joshua Chibueze, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-founder of Piggyvest, said.

“As we enter our tenth year as a company, we remain focused on serving our users even better. They’ve been our biggest advocates, and we want to keep earning that trust every step of the way,” Ifezue added.
