Paul Okoye Threatens Legal Action After Rape Allegation

Singer Paul Okoye, also known by his stage name Rudeboy, has responded strongly to a controversial online accusation, vowing “I will find you” as he prepares to pursue a defamation lawsuit against an X user who accused him of rape. The exchange has become a hot topic across social media platforms and entertainment news.

The controversy erupted after the birthday celebration of Okoye’s wife, Ifeoma, on September 23, 2025. Amid the praise and festivities, one particular comment stood out: a user going by @Chubbydiva claimed that Okoye had raped or coerced their domestic help. The allegation gained attention rapidly as other users picked it up.

Reacting publicly, Okoye wrote:

“I hardly reply, but you see this one @chubbydiva, if you like go private, leave X, I will find you, I will use every necessary means, power, resources, and money. You will face the law, and I will use you to set an example (scapegoat). Your only way out is to leave the surface of this Earth and relocate to space.”

After Okoye’s post, the account of @Chubbydiva was deactivated or restricted, which some say may have been a reaction to the backlash

Supporters and commentators have taken sides. Media personality Do2dtun backed Okoye’s stance, urging him to follow through with the legal threat. He argued that false rape claims can inflict serious damage to someone’s life and reputation, and that Okoye should make an example of such abuses.

The Nation reports that Okoye also accused the accuser of making defamatory statements tied to alleged cheating on his former wife with their housemaid. He insisted such claims were untrue and harmful.

This episode highlights the tension in modern celebrity life between free expression online and the perils of unverified allegations. In recent years, several public figures in Nigeria including Burna Boy, Eniola Badmus, and Dayo Amusa have faced similar situations and taken defamation cases against their accusers.

At present, no court filings appear to have been made public. Observers are watching closely to see if Okoye will follow through on his promise and take legal steps.
