Oyo State Government has released a new academic calendar for school resumption, as the government scraps third term for the 2019/2020 session. This therefore means that promotion of all students will be determined only by the First and Second Term Continuous Assessments.

The new academic calendar states that Primary 6 and JSS3 students will proceed on their school holiday from 30th July, 2020 and resume for their examination as follows:

1. The Basic Education Certificate Examination is scheduled to hold from 10th – 18th August, 2020

2. The Competitive Entrance Examination into the Schools of Science is scheduled to hold on the 19th of August, 2020.

3. The Placement/Screening Test into JSS1 is scheduled to hold on 20th August, 2020.

4. The Placement/Screening Test into Technical Colleges is scheduled to hold on 28th August, 2020

The Oyo State Government has also stated that SS3 students will write their WASSCE immediately WAEC announces the date for its exams. The academic calendar also disclosed that the next academic session and broke it down as follows:

First Term – 21st September to 18th December 2020

Second Term – 11th January to 9th April 2021

Third Term – 3rd May to 30th July 2021
