“Our Deal Was 50/50, You Got Over $625K” – Eezee Responds to Mercy Chinwo’s Allegation

Hours after a report about Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo having a massive fall-out with her former management, Eezee T Conceptz, the owner of the record label, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu has taken to social media to share his side of the story.

In a lengthy statement shared on his social media handles, Eezee T gave a breakdown of things between him and Mercy Chinwo. He shared how Mercy Chinwo begged for months before he finally decided to sign her to his label.

Eezee explained that during the period during which the contract between him and Mercy Chinwo lasted, the earnings between them were divided in a 50/50% manner.

Mercy Chinwo’s former boss further shared how he helped the singer become who she is today by getting her into the music business fully. He also revealed that Mercy Chinwo earned a whooping $625k while she was still signed to his label, but she found a way to hide that in her arrest petition.

Below is an excerpt of Eezee T’s lengthy response:

“Despite offering a 50/50 gross earnings ratio, you are still trying to weaponize law enforcement and religious organizations all in a bid to take over a catalog you did not spend one naira on. $625,000 – that is how much you have received from the Eezee concept to date. While claiming and singing it’s all for Jesus, your actions paint a different picture. It’s disheartening to see the lies being spread. I invested my sweat and hard-earned money in you. You breached our content by failing to release a third album and withholding funds meant for the label.”

Here are some of the comments that trailed Eezee T’s lengthy statement:

@marrzofficial:
“Wow! 😮 50/50 deal??? Didn’t even know that existed in this part of the world. That’s literally dream come true for any artist! Hmmm.”

@amiliciousamy:
“Mercy Chinwo has lost music intelligence, dexterity, and creativity ever since she left Eezee. Her song are just very plain and basic, just literally shouting 😂. Her husband has no idea about music, how would she even let him be her Manager? A big joke when I heard it😂 her songs are just selling on past glory that’s all.”

@godspower_nze:
“But why is he emphasising that he put food on her table and give her a platform also give her accommodation? If it’s not the grace of God in her life that announced her to the world will you say all this?”

@princedavidreal:
“By the way, Mrs Bilikisu Buhari, a Muslim will be acting as a counsel on behalf of EFCC / Mercy Chinwo to prosecute Eezeetee. This is not good.”

@official_rexnation:
“Is crazy how people with small influence change, at first they will come begging and can take anything when they finally see the limelight everyone and everything doesn’t matter, i look at the same case of Moses Bliss and Ebuka Songs and shook my head.”

@tim__mensah:
“Don’t choose sides. PRAY FOR THE CHURCH when we are under attack! Both parties are in my prayers. We are ONE CHURCH and the Gates of Hades has failed woefully!”

@buchiogbechie_okeke:
“Gospel artists are not Gospel ministers.”

@19th.allure:
“I get it but honestly all of these don’t add up. If for anything Mercy’s involvement in that label took it where it is to date. Check the records and your viewings on YouTube.”

@iamkenniajose:
“The ignorance in this comment section is sickening. There are no emotions when it comes to signing contracts… May justice prevail. A record label is not a ministry, it’s a business.”

@ceesea_ukeje:
“Seeing all of this is disheartening. Especially for those who knew how long you both have come.”
