Olivia Dean has made history as the first woman since Adele to top both Pop and R&B radio charts, thanks to the massive success of her hit single “Man I Need.”
The song reaches a new milestone by crowning Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, as “Man I Need” jumps from No. 5 to lead the chart dated April 11. The achievement cements the track’s dominance across formats, having already enjoyed a six-week run at No. 1 on Pop Airplay and three weeks at the top of Adult Pop Airplay earlier this year.

With this, “Man I Need” becomes the first song by a female artist since Adele’s “Hello” in 2015–16 to complete this rare triple-chart feat. The accomplishment underscores the song’s wide appeal and consistent airplay success across multiple audiences.
Released via Polydor/Island/REPUBLIC, “Man I Need” also ended Tank’s “Control” reign on Adult R&B Airplay, pushing the former chart-topper down after two weeks at No. 1.

The track’s momentum extends beyond radio. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has spent 20 weeks in the top 10, fueled by strong streaming and airplay numbers. It also continues climbing the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and holds steady on Adult Contemporary.
Further solidifying her breakout year, Dean’s chart success follows her Grammy win for Best New Artist in February.
As “Man I Need” continues to dominate, Olivia Dean’s crossover success signals a defining moment in her career—one that places her among a select group of artists who have bridged pop and R&B radio at the highest level.
