A moment to remember in the collection of unforgettable stage performances by Nigerian Artists.

2009 was definitely a year of great music and expressions across Nigeria and Soul Singer, Nikki Laoye, who had become a household name at the moment, delivered a stunning performance at the popular Hip Hop World Awards that left the public talking and falling more in love with her style and music in a large drove that year when it was aired on National Television.
With a Rock chic themed look, the singer performed her classic debut hit single, “Never Felt This Way Before” with a stunning dance intro alongside choreographer/rapper, TBos at the 2009 edition of the Hip Hop World Awards (now known as The Headies) in Abuja, Nigeria.
The performance was voted by the public as the 3rd Best Performance of the night with Darey in 1st Place and 2Face in 2nd place.
The Stage Music was arranged and edited by Nikki Laoye (who also doubles as a Producer/Arranger for her stage performances) while Choreography was by TBos and Nikki Laoye.
The alternative rock song, “Never Felt This Way Before” was released as a single in 2006 and included in her debut album, “Angel 4 Life” in 2008 but the song’s reign continued for many years after which got Nikki Laoye massive attention across the Nigerian and International Music scene.
The song was nominated for KORA Awards, Soundcity Music Awards, City People Awards and also aired as one of the first Nigerian Videos played on American Entertainment Channel, BET in 2009.
That same year, Nikki Laoye was also nominated in two categories of the 2009’s edition of the Headies – “Best Female Vocal Performance” and ” Hip Hop World Revelation Of The Year”, alongside Omawumi, Waje, Banky W and MI.
In 2013, Nikki Laoye finally won the “Best Female Vocal Performace” with her ballad hit, “Only You” and also gave another fantastic dance performance of “123” at the 2014 edition of the awards.
