
Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has charged the staff of the anti-graft agency to be disciplined and discharge their duties with the utmost professionalism.
The EFCC boss gave the charge on Monday, March 22, at the Sokoto Zonal Office, a statement made available on the commission’s Twitter page indicates.
Bawa said told the EFCC staff that Nigerians and the whole world are watching the commission, noting that they can’t afford to fail.
He urged them to be more courageous in the execution of the commission’s mandate.
His words:
“We have already promised to do the job to the best of our abilities and therefore cannot afford to fail. The eyes of Nigerians and, indeed the whole world, are on us.”
Bawa stressed that integrity is one of the cardinal pillars on which the EFCC anchors its operations, warning that the agency will not tolerate any act inimical to discipline.
The EFCC boss promised the staff that some issues on ground such as promotions, welfare, seniority and ranking will soon be addressed.
