The landmark 10th edition of the Nigeria Digital PR Summit has just wrapped up, marking a decade of driving ethical storytelling and digital reputation management in Nigeria’s communications industry. Held in Lagos from October 15–16, 2025 at the Conference Centre, Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, the summit brought together communications professionals, brand managers, digital strategists and media executives from across the country.

Organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (Lagos State Chapter) in partnership with Upticomm Marketing Company, the event was themed “Digital PR in Action: Owning Your Narrative, Telling Your Story.” In his opening remarks, Convener Segun McMedal reflected on how the summit has evolved from a modest Lagos-based gathering into a truly national platform that sets the tone for digital public relations in Nigeria.
Milestone edition underscores ethical narrative

At the heart of this year’s meeting was the idea that ethical storytelling and reputation management are now central to brand communication and digital PR practice. Speakers emphasised that in a world of misinformation, crises and rapid digital change, how organisations control their story matters just as much as the story itself. Panels and masterclasses looked at the intersection of digital PR with AI, sustainability, influencer engagement and crisis management.
Keynote addresses featured industry heavyweights such as Prof. Adewale Obadare (Digital Encode), Chioma Afe (Seplat Energy) and Mabel Adeteye (Wema Bank), who shared insights into human-centred communication, brand trust and narrative ownership. Alongside expert sessions, the summit also included a showcase of emerging digital PR tools, networking opportunities and the 2nd Nigeria Digital PR Awards Gala that honoured brands, agencies and digital creators for excellence in storytelling.
For the attending professionals—young PR talent, content creators, corporate communication executives—the summit reinforced that ethical storytelling is not optional but foundational in the digital era. Participants received certificates of participation and some were inducted as Digital PR Ambassadors.
Looking ahead
With a decade now behind it, the Nigeria Digital PR Summit appears poised to influence not just Nigerian PR practice but also digital communications across Africa. As the industry shifts and grows, so too does the demand for narratives that are transparent, credible and impactful.
