During the October 2025 edition of his Hallelujah Challenge, gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey shared a deeply personal testimony that moved thousands watching online. In a video clip that has gone viral, he revealed that his wife, Sarah, endured five miscarriages, including an ectopic pregnancy, while he was leading the worship event.

Bassey described moments when he would leave the hospital to lead praise and worship online, then return to his wife in the middle of the night. He said hospital nurses would sometimes tell him, “It was powerful tonight,” unaware of what he was going through privately.
He said that at times, nobody outside their home knew the pain they were enduring. “There were times when we had a miscarriage and nobody knew,” he said.
Bassey’s candour resonated strongly with viewers, especially believers who saw faith and transparency intersect during crisis. During the live worship session, his testimony served as an encouragement to those struggling in silence.

The Hallelujah Challenge is a month-long virtual praise and worship program that draws in believers globally every evening to pray, sing, and share testimonies.
In his remarks, Bassey emphasized God’s faithfulness, even when life feels unbearable. He said the journey tested their marriage and faith but also deepened his reliance on God’s strength.
The couple, married since 2013, has two children — a son and a daughter.
