Renowned media personality and broadcaster, Dr. Morayo Afolabi-Brown, has officially debuted her much-anticipated live audience talk show “the Morayo Show” with a powerful and symbolic choice for its very first guest Agatha Amata widely regarded as Nigeriaโs original queen of daily audience television or Nigeria’s Oprah Winfrey.
The decision to host Agatha Amata on the premiere episode was not accidental. According to Morayo, it was a deliberate act of honour.

โAgatha Amata paved the way,โ Morayo said. โLong before live daily audience shows became fashionable, she stood boldly on television, telling authentic African stories, building conversations, and shaping culture. She is our Oprah not just because of what she did, but because of how she did it.โ
Agatha Amata, creator and host of the iconic Inside Out with Agatha, remains one of Nigeriaโs most admired media pioneers. Her consistency, courage, and commitment to storytelling inspired a generation of broadcasters, particularly women, and redefined what audience-centered television could be in Nigeria.

For Morayo Afolabi-Brown, whose career has been defined by thoughtful conversations, advocacy, and people-focused dialogue, launching The Morayo Show without honouring Agatha first felt incomplete.
โAs I step into this new chapter, I wanted my first show to recognise leadership, resilience, and legacy,โ Morayo added. โAgatha represents strength, grace, and excellence. Celebrating her accomplishments on our very first episode felt not only fitting, but necessary.โ
The Morayo Show is a daily live audience programme designed as a “talk-with” rather than โtalk-atโ platform and a space for meaningful conversations, diverse perspectives, and solution-driven dialogue on issues that affect everyday Nigerians. The show places the audience at the centre, encouraging participation, connection, and community.

By opening the show with Agatha Amata, Morayo sends a powerful message: progress is strongest when it remembers its pioneers.
The premiere episode, which aired on January 5, was both a celebration and a conversation reflecting on leadership, media legacy, womanhood, and the strength required to remain relevant and impactful across generations.
As The Morayo Show begins its journey, it does so grounded in gratitude, honour, and a clear understanding of the shoulders on which it stands.
