Tottenham head coach, Mauricio Pochettino has extended his contract with the club after signing a new five year contract on Friday afternoon.
Pochettino’s former deal was due to expire in 2019 but when a manager makes the kind of strides Pochettino has made this season, his reward is almost always a new and improved contract which will run till 2021.
Although he was linked to the PSG job, the Argentine had stated his desire to stay at the club,
“It was an easy decision when you feel the love of the people and the potential of the club is massive, so why change?
“We create a good atmosphere on the training ground and I think we can achieve big things in the future. I believe in this project and this club. I want to stay here.”
Under Pochettino’s guidance, Spurs are in second place and even though they seemed to have blown the title bid last weekend, a place in the Champions League next season is a great consolation.
