Mariah Carey might need to add a few workouts to keep up with her latest,accessory—her new 35-carat engagement ring.
After accepting a proposal from her beau, billionaire James Packer, early last week, the mega star has opened up to about her proposal and her gorgeous new bling, an emerald cut diamond center stone.
“It’s so heavy I can’t lift my arm up!” Carey told E! News on Friday. Carey’s rock is the largest celebrity engagement ring on record, according to PEOPLE.
Packer popped the question in New York City on January 21st, and as expected, the proposal blew the pop diva away. After getting down on one knee, Packer present Carey with the stunning ring, designed by her longtime friend, jewelry designer Wilfredo Rosado.
She told E! News the proposal was “very romantic. He’s an exceptional person and really…it gets more romantic by the day, so it’s very sweet.”
This will be the third marriage for Carey and Packer so if you’re hoping for a grand wedding affair, don’t hold your breath.
Carey revealed that wedding plans have changed this time around. “We are not doing a big wedding because he did two big weddings, and it’s kind of like, ‘I’ve done a big wedding [too]’… We would rather make it beautiful but humble.”
The couple has not revealed a wedding date yet, but Carey does have a dress in mind.
“I am very excited about the dress, but I don’t want to talk about it yet, as I have to have my first fitting,” she said.
