The Sensebox Nigeria, an innovative consulting company, has launched its groundbreaking creative platform, Metamorphostyle, for insider perspectives on classic sartorial matters.
The event saw a mixed group of elegant Nigerian stakeholders and tastemakers like Audu Maikori, Funmi Victor-Okigbo, Mai Atafo, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Omatsola Barrow, Remi Adetiba, Tunji Olugbodi, Samuel Odesanmi, Paul Okeugo, and others, experience an evening of fine tailoring and cozy conversations at private membersโ club, Miliki, in Victoria Island, Lagos. This marks the first in the series as an exposition on menswear and style from an intellectual perspective.
The event curator and Creative Director of Metamorphostyle, โSegun Obagbemi took the audience on a journey to the auspicious origins of the now ubiquitous suit stating that;
โThe relevance of the suit to everyday life and special occasions cannot be over emphasized. The suitโs largely unknown history ranges from French royalty and aristocracy from Louis XIV, through Regency England to the modern day. The event will run as a series with different themes around enhancing the modern man. We are surely looking forward to the next one with bated breath!โ
One of the major highlights of the evening was the trunk show of Brommon – an Italian bespoke menswear brand. The owner, Kwaku Boateng Akuoko presented the unique selling proposition of his exquisite hand-finished custom garments. He spoke about his brandโs plans for the Nigerian market whilst answering questions from guests. The showcase was followed by Creative Director Seugun Obagbemi presenting a style guide on building a classic wardrobe, with guests also participating in general discussions and Q&As with prizes given out.
