Gospel drama minister and Christian creative, Kolade Segun Okeowo, popularly known as KSO, has strongly criticised Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti following controversial comments he made about the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
The backlash followed a viral video in which Seun Kuti narrated an alleged incident involving a wealthy Nigerian family and a terminally ill cancer patient. According to the singer, the family reportedly brought the patient from abroad to Nigeria and allegedly paid about $250,000 in hopes of receiving divine healing at the RCCG Redemption Camp.

In the video, Seun Kuti claimed that the patient eventually died and further alleged that church members were discouraged from crying because she would be raised from the dead. His remarks quickly sparked outrage online, with many Christians describing the comments as offensive, misleading, and unsubstantiated.
Reacting to the claims, KSO dismissed the allegations as reckless and defamatory, insisting that Pastor Adeboye has never portrayed himself as someone who charges money for miracles. According to the gospel drama minister, the RCCG leader has consistently taught that healing comes from God, not from human effort or financial transactions.
KSO described Seun Kuti’s statements as “nonsensical speculation” and accused the singer of attacking the reputation of a respected religious leader without presenting any proof. He further questioned the motive behind the comments, suggesting that such claims appear to be driven by a desire for attention rather than a commitment to truth.
The Christian creative also criticised what he described as a growing trend of public figures making sweeping allegations against religious leaders without evidence, warning that such narratives can cause unnecessary division and misinformation within society.
Calling for accountability, KSO urged Seun Kuti to issue an unreserved apology, stressing that accusing a cleric of financial exploitation and false miracles is a serious matter that should not be treated lightly. He maintained that Pastor Adeboye’s integrity and decades-long ministry cannot be discredited by unverified stories shared on social media.
As of the time of this report, no credible evidence has been presented to support Seun Kuti’s claims, and there has been no official statement from Pastor Adeboye or the RCCG addressing the allegations directly.
The controversy continues to generate reactions online, with supporters and critics debating the broader issue of faith, miracles, and accountability in religious spaces. However, KSO has made his stance clear: allegations without proof should not replace facts, and respected leaders deserve fairness, truth, and dignity.
