American rapper, Kendrick Lamar has received the key to the City of Compton today.

The Compton born rapper is undoubtedly an inspiration to many, achieving massive success with his recent album “To Pimp A Butterfly’.

The Mayor of Compton, Aja Brown said “Kendrick Lamar is a phenomenal artist whose work has served as a catalyst to raise a new level of consciousness for this generation,”

“His message challenges the status quo and motivates listeners to rethink our society’s institutions.”

28 year old Kendrick Lamar was a straight A’s student in High School and is leading this year’s Grammy nominations with nine nominations
