Veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva has announced the passing of her brother, John Olabiyi Silva, in a heartfelt post two days ago. Describing him as “Long John Silva… Bros B… Uncle B… my easy-going brother,” she paid tribute to the joy he brought into her life. His dates: January 22, 1953 – August 29, 2025.

The timing of this announcement feels current and poignant. Especially since Mrs Silva continues to navigate personal challenges, including caring for her husband, Olu Jacobs, who has been battling dementia.
