Shortly after Twitter put an end (albeit optional) to its chronological timeline, Instagram has also announced they’ll be joining the party.
The reverse chronological timeline has always been what differentiated Facebook from the rest of the pack. However, the need to keep up and stay competitive seems to have forced Twitter and Instagram to consider imitating their successful neighbor.
Instagram announced yesterday that a new algorithm will determine what users will see as it prepares to do away with the chronological order.
Twitter’s decision early in the year was swiftly followed by #RIPTwitter trend but Instagram users apparently are not as bothered.
