MOVIES
THE BRUTALIST

The Brutalist follows Lรกszlรณ Toth, a Hungarian Jewish architect. After surviving the Holocaust, Lรกszlรณ emigrates to the United States to start a new life, while awaiting the arrival of his wife and niece, both of whom remain trapped in Eastern Europe following the war. The promise of the American Dream proves to be illusory as his stature and reputation as a successful architect back in Budapest do not easily translate to his new blue blood Pennsylvania surroundings.
The Brutalist won three Oscars, including Best Actor for Adrien Brody; three Golden Globes, including Best Picture and Best Director for Brady Corbet; and over 120 other awards. Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce were both Oscar-nominated for their supporting roles.
CONCLAVE

The pope is dead. The throne is vacant.
When Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with leading one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events, selecting a new pope, he finds himself at the centre of a web of conspiracies and intrigue that could shake the very foundation of the Catholic Church.
Conclave won Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2025 Oscars, where it was up for eight Academy Awards, including Motion Picture of the Year. The film also won over 80 more awards internationally, including the Rotten Tomatoesโ Golden Tomato for the best-reviewed Mystery & Thriller Movie of 2024 and this yearโs awards for Best Film at the BAFTAs, Best Acting Ensemble at the Critics Choice Awards, and Best Leading Actor from the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Ralph Fiennes as Cardinal Lawrence.
Directed by Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front), Conclave also stars Oscar nominees Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, and Isabella Rossellini, as well as BAFTA nominee Lucian Msamati (Gangs of London).
SEPTEMBER 5

Nominated for Best Original Screenplay at this yearโs Oscars and Critics Choice Awards, and for Best Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globes, September 5 is set during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, where an American sports broadcasting team must adapt to live coverage of the Israeli athletes being held hostage by a terrorist group.
Based on real events, September 5 unveils the decisive moment that forever changed media coverage and continues to impact live news today.
John Magaro (Past Lives) stars alongside Emmy nominee Peter Sarsgaard (Dopesick), Berlin International Film Festival Shooting Star Leonie Benesch and Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line).
DEN OF THIEVES: PANTERA

Action star Gerard Butler and OโShea Jackson Jr. (Straight Out of Compton, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) return in the #1 box office hit movie Den of Thieves: Pantera, the long-awaited sequel to 2018โs action-heist Den of Thieves.
In Den of Thieves: Pantera, Big Nick (Butler) and Donnie (Jackson) must team up for a massive heist of the worldโs largest diamond exchange.
IYANU: THE AGE OF WONDERS

Set 500 years before the rise of Iyanu, The Age of Wonders transports viewers to Yorubaland at the height of its magical civilisation. When Meje โ the embodiment of the seven deadly sins โ emerges, young warriors Dara and Ishe must stop the coming Age of Darkness. Their only hope lies with the Divine Ones, legendary beings who once walked the earth and upheld the balance between light and shadow.
The feature filmโs all-Nigerian voice cast includes Shaffy Bello (The Black Book) as Emi โ The One Mother, African Movie Academy Awards winner and Vogue US cover star Adesua Etomi-Wellington as Olori, and award-winner Serah Johnson as Iyanu.
Created by Nigerian director Roye Okupe from his own graphic novel, the breakout first season of the animated series ranked as the #1 series on Cartoon Network, in the top 10 kidsโ and family series on Max, and as the most-watched kidsโ series on Showmax at its launch.

CHICAGO MED S10

Season 10 of Chicago Med sees the cityโs top medical team once again step up to save lives in moments of crisis, from the capsizing of a passenger ship to a subway tunnel collapse and the separation of conjoined twins.
From Emmy-winning mega-producer Dick Wolf (who also brought us the Law & Order and FBI franchises), the award-winning third instalment in the Chicago franchise picks up with the highly skilled Gaffney Medical team of doctors, nurses, surgeons and support staff ready to face intense new challenges as they balance their professional and personal lives in the emergency department.
CHICAGO FIRE S13

The firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago return to risk their lives on the front lines as One Chicagoโs flagship series Chicago Fire enters its thirteenth season.
Nominated for Drama Show of the Year at last yearโs Peopleโs Choice Awards, Chicago Fire picks up one month after the Season 12 finale with a change of command at Firehouse 51 as Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) ruffles feathers as the new Battalion Chief following Bodenโs appointment as the new Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department.
Meanwhile, Severide deals with the implications of Damonโs explosive revelation at the end of last season as he and Stella prepare to take the next step in their relationship, and the arrival of a new character (played by Teen Choice nominee KaDee Strickland, aka Private Practice’s Dr. Charlotte King) brings complications for Pascal.
LANDMAN S1

The most streamed series globally in the first quarter of 2025, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking, set in the West Texas oilfields, where roughnecks and wildcat billionaires are fueling a boom so big itโs reshaping the regionโs climate, economy and geopolitics.
Billy Bob Thornton was nominated for the 2025 Golden Globe for Best Actor as oil company fixer Tommy Norris. The all-star cast includes Oscar nominee Demi Moore (The Substance), Teen Choice nominee Ali Larter (Heroes, Final Destination), and Emmy winner Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Fargo).
Landman is co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1923, Lioness, Tulsa King) and Christian Wallace, inspired by the podcast Boomtown, which Wallace hosted and based on his own experiences working on oil rigs.
SINGLE KIASI S4

One of the 10 most streamed local series on Showmax Kenya for the last three years in a row, Single Kiasi picks up Season 4 with Sintameiโs world spinning out of control after a night of questionable choices with Nick. Consumed by guilt, she immerses herself in her work, striving to elevate her law firm’s profile. However, the arrival of a charismatic and adventurous stranger tempts Sintamei to explore a dangerous path.

As Officer Dante Torres, Benjamin Levy Aguilar was once again up for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama at the Imagen Awards, where the show was nominated for Best Drama Series last year, while LaRoyce Hawkins was nominated for the 2024 Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series as Officer Kevin Atwater.
S.W.A.T. S8 BATCH 2

Sergeant Daniel โHondoโ Harrelson and his elite tactical team Twenty Squad are back for the action-packed conclusion of S.W.A.T.โs final season. The LAPDโs Special Weapons and Tactics unit (aka S.W.A.T.) will have no time for drawn-out goodbyes though, as they face a hostage crisis, the abduction of a young child, escaped prisoners and an explosive siege situation.
The action drama has pulled through two previous cancellations, and although CBS has confirmed that Season 8 will be the final-final, thereโs already talk of a spin-off series in the works with a different studio.
Co-created by Emmy nominee Shawn Ryan (The Shield), S.W.A.T. has been nominated for Critics Choice Super Awards for Best Action Series and Best Actor in an Action Series (for Emmy winner Shemar Moore, as Hondo), as well as four Emmys for its stunt coordination.
New faces this season include Nigerian actress Annie Ngosi Ilonzeh (Emily Foster on Chicago Fire) and South African actor Stelio Savante, who appears as Omar Morina in episode 12.
