“Eezee Threatened to Destroy My Career” – Mercy Chinwo Finally Breaks Silence, Releases Bombshell Documents

After nearly two weeks of back-and-forth and social media outrage, Nigerian gospel singer and minister, Mercy Chinwo has finally come out to tell her side of the issue involving her and her former manager, Eezee T.

In a document exclusively received by OSG, a detailed breakdown of the issues between Mercy Chinwo and Eezee T was given by the legal counsel of the gospel music singer.

Starting with how Mercy Chinwo started as a backup singer to Eezee T from their time in Port Harcourt to her big break with “Excess Love”.

The documents also revealed how multiple contracts were signed between Eezee T and Mercy Chinwo in 2017 and 2019, which is one of the main problems between the two parties.

Mercy Chinwo also revealed in the documents that she at no point filed a case in court against her former manager or his record label. She clarified that it was Eezee T who filed a case in court amidst them trying to arrive at a peaceful resolution.

“Several reconciliation attempts failed” – Mercy Chinwo shares

In the documents published, Mercy Chinwo noted that several reconciliation attempts were made, but none worked. She revealed how she gifted Eezee T an SUV, and he said he wanted to post it online, but she declined.

She noted that when an independent auditor was employed to help interrogate the accounts and all their transactions from 2017 to 2022 when her contract expired, Eezee T frustrated its efforts until the interrogators retired from the case.

The gospel singer also shared how Eezee T threatened to destroy her career, using words like “I made you who you are… And I will destroy you”. Mercy Chinwo gave a vivid explanation of how Eezee T would get hostile when she refused to sign the 2019 contract.

Mercy Chinwo also stated that it was through her that another big-time gospel singer, Judikay joined Eezee’s record label.

The singer also shared how Eezee would lie about her being sick or unavailable whenever she was invited to shows and concerts, all to make her sign the 2019 contract.

Minister Mercy described the 2019 contract as evil, fraudulent and aimed at putting her in a lifetime of servitude.

Mercy Chinwo also shared details about their dealings as regards their sharing formula of 50/50. The singer also affirmed that she received over $600k from Eezee T for her works with his label, which includes over 40 albums.

She revealed that she never got Eezee T arrested by the EFCC nor was she the reason behind the commission releasing a warrant of arrest against the label owner.

Forgery and diversion investigation

The singer revealed that during the EFCC panel investigation, it was exposed that the sum of $274k had been unlawfully retained and diverted by Eezee T. These monies were revenue generated from streaming platforms.

However, Eezee T was able to prove that he was told by Mercy Chinwo to keep the money for her to prevent her from mismanaging it. The label owner also noted that he didn’t pay the money back until reconciliation was ascertained, and he never had the intention to steal the funds.

Mercy Chinwo confirmed that the funds have now been peacefully refunded.
